When reporters in Indore questioned Vijayvargiya about the call from some religious leaders to declare India a Hindu Rashtra, he responded, “When India was divided, it was on this topic. (on religious lines). Pakistan was created as a result of Partition, and the remaining country is now a Hindu nation.

The BJP representative, Kailash Vijayvargiya claimed that, like his Muslim friend, many Indians believe that their ancestors previously chanted the Hanuman Chalisa.
