Ishrat Jahan, a Muslim woman, tragically succumbed after being ‘accidentally’ shot in the head by Aligarh Police. Despite desperate efforts at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, she passed away on Wednesday, December 13th.
Her family revealed to the media that Ishrat had been on life support and remained in critical condition with no signs of improvement since the incident. The unfortunate event occurred on December 8th during a passport verification inquiry at Kotwali Police station when Inspector Manoj Sharma discharged his firearm, as captured in CCTV footage.
