Turkey earthquake Live Updates: After a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck Turkey and Syria earlier in the day, leaving more than 1,300 people dead and hundreds injured, India and other nations are rushing relief. The death toll keeps rising.

PM Narendra Modi contacted The Turkish government. The Prime Minister said that India stands in sympathy with the people of Turkey and is prepared to offer all possible assistance to cope with this tragedy. The administration has made the decision to send relief supplies, medical teams, and rescue crews.

The deadly 7.8 earthquake, which had its epicentre in Gaziantep around 90 kilometres from the Syrian border, was followed by another tremor with a magnitude of 7.6. Millions of Syrian refugees have taken up residence in this area. As far away as Cairo, the earthquake was felt.
